Kauaaegne Eesti koondislane Joel Lindpere teatas, et tõmbab oma värvikale karjäärile joone alla. 34-aastase poolkaitsja lahkumismäng leiab aset 1. juunil, mil Eesti võõrustab A. Le Coq Arenal Andorrat.

Traditsiooniliselt toimub lahkumismäng koondislastele, kes on riiki esindanud vähemalt 100 kohtumises. Lindpere sai oma 100. mängu kirja läinud suvel EM-valikmängus San Marino vastu, kokku on tal koondises ette näidata 106 kohtumist ja seitse väravat.

Lindpere tegi debüüdi koondises eelmisel sajandil – 1999. aastal jooksis ta väljakule maavõistluses Araabia Ühendemiraatidega. Tema viimaseks klubiks jäi Nõmme Kalju, keda ta mullu Premium liigas esindas. Kalju ridades oli see tema teiseks tulemiseks, sest just Nõmme meeskonna särgis debüteeris ta 15-aastasena 1997. aastal.

Vahepealses perioodil esindas ta Eestis veel Lelle SK-d, Valga Warriori ja FC Florat. Lisaks Eesti meeskondadele mängis Lindpere ka mitmes välisklubis – esmalt siirdus ta Bulgaariasse Sofia CSKA
ridadesse, kuid on mänginud ka Norras Tromsös, Ameerika Ühendriikides New York Red Bullsi ja Chicago Fire’i meeskondades ning Tšehhis Ostrava Banikus.

Lindpere tuli oma karjääri jooksul Eesti meistriks, karikavõitjaks ja superkarikavõitjaks, Bulgaaria meistriks ning võitis Norra liigas pronksmedali, samuti valiti ta kahel korral MLS-i tähtede võistkonda.
