.....We had had Thornton playing, to give us more quality on the dead-balls; we were not good enough yesterday
....Welsh had had the confidence to shoot immediately with his right foot, instead of giving Van Der Sarr the opportunity to .....come out and grab the ball...
.....Sleeves had shot, with his right foot, instead of that aimless cross...
.... Caldwell hadn't let Van Thistle - starting from 6 feet behind him - get 6 feet in front of him in about 8 yards, to shoot..

.....The Mute, who once again had very little to do, but what he did was very very poor, had done better...
He will persist in dithering on, or near his line, and then diving full length, even if not necessary
...and it looks ridiculous when he misses the soft ball.
I really do feel he should have prevented the first 2 goals.
...plus a parry which nearly went wrong
..plus crosses not attempted which could have cost goals

Other goalkeepers seem to come out challenge and win or catch the ball, ot at least prevent the shot or cross.

Too often, for me, Kevin goes back to his line and the goal target for strikers is then just too big. Surely he MUST come out, be brave, and narrow the angle.

At one point yesterday the ball was allowed to cross the goal area, no attempt to cut it out by KD, but instead he dived spectatularly along his line when there was no shot taking place. It looked completely stupid, and was.

This is not a witch hunt. I want him to succeed.

Surely the bloke is frightened, frozen and tactically lacking at this stage..
The goalkeeper coaches have got to analyse these errors (It happened v Charlton, WBA, Chelsea, West Ham as well) and help the lad - for his own good and the good of the team. Whilst a goalie's errors will always cost, I think he has cost us just too many points this season, when we need every one we can get...

Had we had Poom or Myrhe in goal yesterday we would have won the match.

However, really well done to all of the lads for a truely brilliant effort, hold your heads up high, and thanks Sleeves for a class goal.
Shoot more often all of you, and quicker, and we'll win at Sid James'.
