Wikipeediast sellist infot, et Erik Endel Paartalu on sündinud 3.mail 1986 (seega 23 aastat vana) Sidneys, Austraalias ja liikus siis edasi Walesi ning hiljem Shotimaale. Tundub et väravavaistu tal on. Mängija on Eesti päritoluga, nii et passi siiski vist ei ole. 2003. aastal kuulus ka Austraalia U-17 koondisesse. Muud juttu on ka selle kohta kus ta mänginud on, aga seda lugege juba ise...

Erik Paartalu is widely regarded by Morton fans as one of the key figures who saved our 2007/2008 season from disaster. He is a ball winning midfielder whose primary strength is in the protection which he offers to the defence. He is also excellent at doing the simple things very well and generally finding his man with his passing. Another attribute is the distance that he can achieve from throw ins – a shy level with the penalty box is as good as a corner when Erik is around! He has also proven himself of being capable of scoring and, at the time of writing at the start of season 2008/2009, he has already scored two goals in three starts.

Of Estonian descent, Erik started his professional career in Australia Northern Spirit in the National Soccer League after coming through the youth team and New South Wales Institute of Sports.

He went on to have spells with Northern Tigers and Parramatta Eagles and in 2006 decided to see whether he could create a career in England. He had a trial with Doncaster Rovers in England until the departure of their manager put a stop to that deal. He then had a trial with Gretna and was signed on a short term contract which led to a two and a half year contract. He was a regular in Gretna’s promotion winning side of 2006/2007 making 25 appearances and a further three off the bench. He scored 5 goals for them in this time.

He started season 2007/2008 as a continuing regular in the Gretna team but was loaned to Stirling at Christmas time, probably driven more by Gretna’s need to cut costs than anything else. Like all the other Gretna players, he was made redundant following Gretna’s demise and was snapped up by Morton on 29 March 2008 on a temporary contract until the end of the season. His displays at that time earned him a two year contract with Morton which he signed at the end of season 2007/2008.

Erik maintains that he was inspired to get into football by his big brother and wanting to be as good as him. He enjoys relaxing at home and is a bit of a film buff, making good use of his DVD player!
